PHILIPPINES MAJESTIC MOUNTAINS
& RICE TERRACES
The landscape of Luzon Island is a study in contrasts. In the mountainous north, you'll find the world-renowned Banaue rice terraces, which, like Vigan, are listed as World Heritage sites. The island's highest peak is Mount Pulag, standing at 2,922 meters, just shy of the Philippines' tallest mountain, Mount Apo. Luzon also boasts vast plains, which are key agricultural regions for the country.
This motorcycle tour predominantly traverses the rugged mountains of Northern Luzon. Along with breathtaking views, the route includes numerous curves. The tour features varied stays, including coastal overnights with beach access, a stay in Banaue with stunning views of the rice terraces, and a night in the heart of Vigan, a city famed for its Spanish colonial architecture.
The motorcycle route is mainly on paved roads, although some unpaved sections are included. It's worth noting that even paved roads in the mountains can become muddy following heavy rain or during typhoon season, which runs from August to November.
In summary, this journey promises both scenic beauty and the potential for unexpected adventures.
